Nigeria is bigger than your presidency

We will definitely continue to give our opinions but will president Buhari and his cohorts listen or continue to remain silent?
Please watch this video and see how accurate it is...

Senator Elisha Abbo talks about the state of security in his constituency

This case of security in Nigeria is getting out of hand. It is such a sad tale that Bokoharam still continues their dreaded act in the North.
Let us for a minute not think about the fact that the lawmaker in question is a woman beater who was caught on tape slapping a young lady in a sex store, but reflect on what he is talking about.

To imagine that Bokoharam visited a village nine times between the 5th of December and the 11th of January and nothing was done about it? Come on President Buhari when will the life of Nigerians matter to you? What are you doing in respect to the security of our people?

It is a really sad situation going on here... the annoying part is that the president has no concrete plan toward making the country a safer place for its citizens, instead he joins us in complaining about the state of the country.

It saddens me to watch and hear the level of his ignorance. Can you hear him encourage his people to concentrate more on farming when they are complaining that they are getting kidnapped at the farms and their lands are forcefully taken away from them. If I didn't know better, I would dispute that he isn't the president of Nigeria.

Which way forward?

Senator Dino Melaye flashes his riches while the people he represents starve

Have u ever asked why there is never a cut down in the allowances of our Nigerian government officials? The Nigerian government is happy to tax the hell out of the citizens, cut education, health & military budget but they never touch their allowances, no money to increase minimum wage but we can approve billions to renovate house of assembly.

Senator Dino Melaye is a law maker coming out here to brag about riches and attributing  his riches to God, when he should be representing his people in the house, bringing about positive change & being a good example. It’s sad that we mistake riches for wealth and put the flashes things before the important ones.

The people people that this Senator represents are living in abject poverty. The money that is allocated for the people that they represent is converted into their pockets and they they come out to brag about. The pensioners is Kogi State of Nigeria are paid their pensions and gratuities but hey, it seems to be okay for Uncle Dino to brag about his riches.  It is about time that we begin to call these people what they are 'thieves'!

What they didn't tell us about Sowore Omoyele's release

Omoyele Showore was released just in time for the Christmas celebrations on Christmas eve.
Sowore was first arrested by the Dss in August 2019 on the charges of treason, money laundering and cyberstalking of the president of Nigeria (yes o that is their interpretation of blogging and writing about Buhari).

Sowore was released eventually on Christmas eve based on the pressure that was mounted on the Nigerian Government from Sowore's neighbours as well as lawmakers from the United states of America.

It took a letter signed by four United states Senators and two members of Congress to release Sowore on bail.

Buhari through Useni blames his bad governance on advisers

In the spirit of Christmas and the holidays, I want to say for the records that those responsible for misleading this country, the present government regime and other Nigerians should resolve to do the right thing at all times in their given areas of responsibility, In the coming year if not the country will continue to experience serious problems.

A few days ago, a one time Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni (retd), stated that there is a huge influx of bad advisers working under the regime of President Muhammadu Buhari, and these constitutes a threat to good governance and democratic practice Nigeria, the report report stated.
He said, “As a president, Buhari does not do everything by himself; he has advisers. If you have advisers and they advise you properly, you will do proper thing but when you have bad advisers, you will have problems.
“What I am saying is that there are good and bad advisers. So if there is anything going wrong at all under the administration, it must be based on bad advisers and not that him, as an individual, will try to see that things are done badly.

OMG! Can you see how this president is trying to shift the blame of bad decisions he make and his inadequacies to run the country to his advisers? What is wrong with you acknowledging that you are doing a terrible job at governing and let younger people that have the interest of the people at heart to run the country.
And as for you Lt. General Useni, why are you trying to confuse the people and give them wrong information to distract them? The truth is what we want! Stop shifting blames and let the people know the truth instead of sugarcoating it and trying to make Buhari look good when he is not.

President Buhari Please release Comrade Sowore

I am honestly beginning to believe that there is more to the detaining of Comrade Sowore.
Sowore was first arrested in August 2019 when he organized a protest where he peacefully demanded a better country from president Buhari.

Sowore Omoyele a 48yr old Nigerian activist was caught up in the middle of a nightmare on Friday morning where an unidentified man struck him in court. Sowore was in court for a trial where the Department of state services accused him of planning to bring down the government of President Buhari.
What is really going on in this country Nigeria? We say there is freedom of speech and press, but when a citizen voices an opinion, you send them to jail.

When the preceding was disrupted on Friday  dec 6th, by the armed men of the Department of State Services, even the presiding judge had to run for cover! They created a whole scene that I am personally ashamed of. Sowore that had been earlier released on bail was again rearrested for another charge!
My prayer is that they don't kill this man in jail... Sowore is a man asking the government for what the Nigerian people deserve but they are trying to shut him up at all cost.

President Buhari Please do what is right and release Sowore Omoyele.

Vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo calls for punishment of people found guilty of gender based violence and the adoption of preventive measures against this form of violence.
This launch is in line with the 16days of International campaign to put an end to violence against women and girls.
The theme for this year's campaign is 'Orange the world: Generation Equality stands against Rape '
This campaign, which usually runs from the 25th of November through 10th of December, is in response to the volume of marginalization that women go through based on our gender.

What I am mostly impressed about, is the fact that the Nigerian vice-president is lending his voice to this campaign. He encourages every country to look beyond systematic dysfunction of cultures in other to prevent sexual based violence.  He emphasis everyone to stop downgrading speeches towards women.

I think it is very important that people found guilty of sexual violence be brought to book by the law because if this not done, these act will definitely continue.
Parents generally have a huge role to play in this respect. Because as parents raising children, we have to make sure that we imbibe the knowledge of ZERO tolerance to gender/sexual based violence.

57 Arraigned for being GAY in Lagos Nigeria

The Federal high court of Nigeria was on the 4th of Nov 2019.  supposed to arraign 55 alleged gays before Justice Rilwan Aikuwa, however, the Court space was too small to accommodate all the accused.

As the case proceeded, Isreal Usman, who is the defence council made it known to the court that only 46 of the 57 accused of being gay were available to be arraigned. the Judge, however, responded that he was only aware of 36 defendants that were listed before him. he further said that because the 57 allegedly accused of being gay by the Nigerian Police was a huge number and the court would not accommodate them, therefore the case was adjourned to the 22nd of November 2019.

The accused were arrested by the Nigerian Police on the 26th of August 2016at a hotel in Egbeda, Lagos Nigeria. They were charged under section 5(2) of the same sex prohibition act of 2013.

Tales of a gay Nigerian youth

On the 27th of October 2019, a young man in Nigeria, by name Mattew Blaise, recently
took to twitter to narrate his experience as being Nigerian and Gay.
In Nigeria, homophobic attack on people living as LGBTQ is very rampant because of
the Nigerian law that is against it and anyone associated with LGBTQ. The perpetrators
of these human rights violations are never arrested or charged with any crime because
of this law.
Mattew narrated on twitter how terrible he feels and emphasis on how this has affected
his mental health.

I personally believe that the reason that this law was made is as a result of the depth of
religious ignorance that has eaten deeply into the bones of Nigeria and Nigerians. it is a
pity that the lawmakers in Nigeria have refused to acknowledge the truth and let every life
matters. The scream buy made in Nigeria goods to grow the Naira but go abroad for three
weeks on "PRIVATE VISIT" or should I say medical visit.
Mattew's experience bellow as twitted...

Chibok Girls,,,,,5years after

In April 2014, there was a kidnap of 276
girls from an all-girls boarding school in
Chibok, Borno state. These girls became
known and referred to as The Chibok girls.
Somewhere along the line, some girls were
released and some even escaped their
captives however, 111 girls are still missing
and their families and the community still
waits for their return.
When this incident happened, I vividly
remember how loud the movement ‘Bring
Back Our Girls’ was and how international
bodies and prominent personalities
advocated for these girls to be released.
Five years down the line and there is still
no news of these missing girls, we still
wonder what could have happened to
them. Their families and the Chibok
society still wonder if they will ever be
recovered. The UNICEF recorded more
than 3,500 missing children that are
recruited and used as armed groups
within the Nort-East Nigeria since 2013.
The report stated that about 432 children
were killed,180 abducted and about 43
girls happened to be sexually abused.
It seems like the world has totally
forgotten about the kidnapped young girls
and I believe it is safe to say that if they
were the children of The Nigerian
President or Vice President, this would not
be the case. Someone would have been
held accountable. Now it is 5 years down
the line and there are still no answers, the
parents of these children are in terrible
pains and in total darkness as to the
whereabouts of their children. The
Government doesn't seem to be doing
anything and everyone seems to be quiet
about it.
On the 9th of September 2019, a young
man by the name of Mr. Bensons recently
won an award for a virtual story at the
Venice film festival. This short film has
brought some sort of hope to the parents
of these girls and the entire Chibok
community. In his acceptance speech,
Mr. Benson said ‘we can’t move on from
the tragedy that happened has it is not yet
over. His short film titled DAUGHTER OF
CHIBOK was shot in Chibok and it shows
the actual circumstance in which the
community is at present and Mr. Benson
also added that majority of these families
have other children that they cater for,
however, they live in the fear every and
poverty has also taken over the better part
of them.
